Captured moments @ OOKPROJECT
2025.08.21
Finally, the website is live!
Still a ton of things to fix of course, but in my opinion it turned out super nice. Some kind of milestone.
As one or two may have noticed, this summer has been a lot about creating content and getting an Instagram account going in order to get my own first little share of visibility. There have actually been quite a few visitors on the site, which is really fun. And I’ve got just over 100 lovely followers on Instagram. THANK YOU for your support ❤️
I do realize that having a bit over 100 followers doesn’t exactly make me an influencer, but 9,000 views on Insta is not that bad, right? Even though ChatGPT kindly informed me that the average reel gets around 16,000 views, it also added that based on 100 followers it is actually really good with the 600–1000 views that OOKPROJECT got on some of its initial reels.
So now comes the next step, and all the thoughts that rise with it. How to reach more people? And how to get them to stick around? How to increase sales on the site? What do people actually want to read and see… and what would just make them fed up?
Until I started this project I’ve been focusing on creating products for customers who are used to taking care of marketing and sales on their own. So this is kind of new to me. And the fact that I’ve basically only been a silent observer on social media in my private life for the past 5–6 years doesn’t exactly help. I’m so grateful though, for family & friends and especially my partner, who has put up with me this summer going from basically not sharing anything at all online – to constant product placements and photo snappings. The fact that he’s done this and supported me along the way feels amazing. Even though he can’t resist imitating the legendary Swedish Killinggänget every time I repeat the word content.
So yeah – it’s fun, but also a bit scary. It feels vulnerable to create something and put it out there. You want it to look nice. At the same time, you don’t have endless hours to spend on every detail. You can’t analyze every single post forever, because then nothing would ever happen.
With that said, my goal with OOKPROJECT is to get more companies and brands on board – and to be part of that journey. I do feel some pressure to grow my social media following, just to show the companies I reach out to that there’s genuine interest and demand.
And even though profitability isn’t the main goal for OOKPROJECT right now, I still need to sell some products to be able to invest in the next ones. One of the things I’d love to explore is creating products with padding – maybe from leftover socks or old knit sweaters with holes that are otherwise hard to reuse. Or maybe something completely different 😅. Any ideas?
I’m totally excited about the fall. Can’t wait to see where this might go. And I’m looking forward to sharing the journey with all of you who stick around and keep updated. ❤

Today my cousin and I are in full-on hustle mode, trying to get the OOKPROJECT website ready. Pretty sure I’ve been telling everyone for weeks now that it’s launching “next week”... but, as always, there’s more to sort out than expected. You know how it is – pixels, product photos, and just a few hundred tiny decisions later.
But hey – we’re getting close. Hopefully this week. Possibly next. Either way, it's happening soon ✌️

The labels have arrived and the prototype for my next project is done! Tried to take some photos of my daughter... but she may have had other plans 😅 We’re getting close – soon there will be 3 products ready and available to buy on the website!
Unfortunately, I’ve discovered that the name “OOK” is already registered as a trademark by a company in India. I’ve tried reaching out to them, but haven’t had any luck.
So for the next round of labels, it will say OOKPROJECT instead – and honestly, I think it’s going to be even better this way!

All the denim bags are finally done – now I’m just waiting on the last of my labels to arrive. In true me-fashion, I’ve left a few things to the very last minute... but hey, that’s when the magic happens, right?

During the production of the bag, I realized that quite a few fabric pieces are left over – both from denim and shirts. And of course, that got me thinking… what could I make from them?

Today we took a trip to Uddebo. I absolutely LOVE Uddebo and the space next to their sourdough bakery and pizza spot just outside Tranemo.
If you haven’t been – it’s definitely worth a visit. Both for the pizza and the beautiful surroundings.
While I was there, I took the opportunity to snap tons of photos of the bag – and of everyone I was with. You’ll be seeing more of that soon, both on the website and over on my Instagram.

Today I visited the factory to check on how production is going and to see what the first bags look like.
Everything is looking even better that I expected, and I’m beyond excited that production is now underway.
Now it’s time to really get going with the website and all the other things that need to be done. It’s moving a bit slowly – not at the factory, but on my end.
This is still a bit of a side project for me. But it’s so fun to see progress, and today it really feels like things are starting to happen!

Alright – I’ve received the main label for my bag. These aren’t the first ones, though. I initially ordered from an online site. They turned out okay – but not quite what I had in mind. This new batch is definitely better. That said, I’ve shared some feedback on them and am now waiting to see what the final version will look like… Exciting stuff!

Here is a photo of the 1st proto of the bag. It was actually made a few weeks ago. I am very happy about how it turned out.

At the studio today – hanging up some jeans that didn’t fully dry in the wash and sorting through materials for laundry and the next exciting project. Brought the kids along too – because, you know… that’s how we roll sometimes 😅

Alright – when it comes to the denim, I’ll be sorting it into three groups: lighter denim with higher elastane content, 100% cotton denim, and those with a lower elastane mix. I’m also removing pieces that are too worn or heavily stained.
Some of the more satined and worned fabrics might still be usable for smaller items, like scrunchies or similar. And if needed later on, a wash treatment could be an option.
My aim at this stage is really to make use of as much material as possible – without adding extra processes beyond washing. Someone has already put time and care into making this fabric, so if we don’t need to redo that work, why should we? As for the shirts – I’m still figuring out exactly how to sort those. But right now, I’m leaning toward using most of the blue-toned ones as lining for the bags, which will be the first product I start developing.

I've now picked up the first bags to get an idea of the quality within the different product categories. In this initial phase, I’ve chosen not to set overly detailed guidelines for what should be collected. Instead, I’ve kept it broader – categories like denim, shirts, and so on – to see what comes in and how I can later sort it to fit various potential products. In the previous shipment, I was more specific – for example: denim with a maximum of 2% elastane, shirts in blue tones, etc. So this will be interesting to explore.
