About us
Hi there,
I’m Cecilia – the founder of OOKPROJECT.
For years, I’ve been producing clothing for various brands – mostly in Sweden, with manufacturing primarily in Asia. But after having two kids and keeping the business going alongside maternity leave, I felt a strong pull to do something different. That itch led me to explore the idea of creating and producing right here in Sweden, using materials we already have – especially by repurposing clothes that would otherwise be left to pile up. Funny enough, it all started with a bag I was supposed to produce for a client. But I got such a creative buzz from it that I just thought: THIS is what I want to do! So I began reaching out to more companies and brands to explore the possibility of creating new products from existing textiles.
My goal? To scale this up. To get more businesses excited about joining the journey, and to create efficient, inspiring, and more profitable circular production flows - together. Now, let’s be real. Most people love the concept in theory. But not many want to be the first to try. That’s why I decided to launch OOKPROJECT – my very own brand.
I see OOKPROJECT as a creative testing ground where I can showcase what's possible with preloved garments – clothing that might otherwise end up in the growing global mountains of textile waste. I hope to spark ideas in others and shift perspectives on what fashion can be. This site is partly a platform for selling the pieces I create (to help fund the project), and partly a portfolio – a way for me to show potential clients just how gorgeous and full-of-life upcycled design can be when it starts with a well-worn shirt instead of a bolt of new fabric.
And while I run the company solo, I’m definitely not doing this alone. I’ve had the privilege of buying leftover clothing stock and receiving generous support from Björk & Frihet – and of course from the fantastic team at Fabrikörerna, both based here in Gothenburg.
So – with all that said, I really hope you’ll want to be part of this journey.
If you’re a customer and have questions – don’t hesitate to reach out.
And if you’re a company (or thinking about becoming one!) and you want to explore creating products through upcycling, please get in touch. I'd love to hear from you.
